From the previous lesson, I learn that the internet world is constantly changing such as the from the web 1.0 to 2.0. The web 2.0 allows user to interact with each other on a social media webpage unlike the web 1.0 which are not interactive and static Web 2.0 includes social networking , blogs , video sharing websites. In the web 2.0 , there is also special features such as tagging . These tools helps to ease the user workload , making our internet experience more comfortable , fun and easy to use .
What I think of Flickr is that it is a photo sharing websites , for me , I feel that Flickr is no different from the other photo sharing websites such as Tumblr , weheartit , etc…… But nonetheless , the introduction of Flickr have broaden my range that there are so many photo sharing websites on the net .
Flickr gives an opportunity to share pictures all around the world and it also gives a copyright statement so as nobody can steal your pictures. It enables us to share the world in photographic materials. With settings set to private only a certain people are able to see pictures we posts. I like the idea to share and protect, this is what Flickr offers.
In web 2.0, websites nowadays have gotten hold of web 2.0 which is make website a better experience for all. Unlike the older version, the web 1.0, web 2.0 enhances its capability to show videos, pictures and play music through the web instead of just static words and graphics in web 1.0.
Web 2.0 gives todays generations a great impact like giving me a chance to play flash games, watch youtube videos and such. It give great visual communications from around the world and advertise great websites to influence society in visual experience.
Web 2.0 is a new revolution in the internet world, it allows us to connect to other people in a ways such as tagging and blogging. It also allows us to share stuffs such as photos, videos, and many more. But problems comes arising due to copyright issues for photos and Music Videos of artists. Overall with web 2.0 we can connect to other people worldwide sharing our views and life and feelings by blogging and sharing photos through Flickr for example. With this people are able to comment and know each other more through this new technology.
Personally, I don't like Flickr or Yahoo! Yahoo is only useful to me when I'm chatting because most of my friends back home in the Philippines are using Yahoo! instead of MSN. But I don't really like how Yahoo works so when I heard that Flickr is part of Yahoo! I was like "WHY?!" I think I did have a Flickr long time ago because I'm very interested in Anime Photos and drawings and they are all hosted at Flickr. But I didn't not like it when I was not able to save the photos because I wanted to save the photos in my phone (I know it's kind of childish of me so yeaa) So I stopped using Flickr. Now that Flickr is back to my life, hmmm I still don't like it. I don't know why but I still don't like it. When I am in the site I am quite confused and stuff. I don't really do photography so I am not really interested in photos? I guess. My Friend just made me interested to it when she show's me how to shot right photos in the right angles. But for now photographs are not really in my list (or something like that)
Web 2.0, is yes affecting my life, whenever I go to internet I use Web2.0 to connect to my loved ones and I do many things such as exploring or expanding my knowledge( YouTube NatGeo Channel) Blogging is now actually part of my weekly/daily life, sometimes when I can't really express myself by speaking, I type it and BLOG it. I don't really use diaries now because it is quite tiring for the hands well first of all I don't even have a diary before! but I've tried to have one but it failed. So with Web2.0 I would not be keeping my-pent-up emotions to myself because I can vent my anger/sadness to my BLOG! (keeping it as a private post)
In conclusion I learnt many things, I learnt that BLOGGING is actually Web2.0 and I learnt more about Flickr and maybe in time, I will be able to like it when I have taken in Photography because it will become very useful to me.
web 2.0 , allowed such websites like facebook , blogspot and flickr to become more interactive. with tagging made possible , it allowed searching to become such an easy task.
flickr, now a major photo sharing company ,has opened up digital content to the people world wide, just by signing up , you will receive space for 300MB of images a month and 2 videos. it allows sharing of photos with your friends, families and the whole world.80% of their photo database are public. with such a massive amount of photo database , it is too much work to tag all the photos by themselves , the public users are allowed to annotate the pictures as well, encouraging more user activity other than just viewing pictures , they can tag or even comment on a photo.
flickr has a purpose , that is to make it easier to filter and search through open databases. That's not all , flickr has a special rating system that rates a photo by how many times it has been viewed , commented or marked as a favorite.
you can also utilise flickr on the go with flickr mobile, you can upload pictures with your smartphones .
flickr made photo searching an ease and with their filter and sorting system, you would easily get the results of your desired search
Web 1.0 is an old type of website which does not allow users to interact with the animation or flash in the website.
Web 2.0 is a new format of wesbite which allows users to interact with the animation and interact with other people on other side.
What I learnt about the web 2.0 is that it is what most website are made these days. Websites such as facebook and twitter are web 2.0. I learnt that web 2.0 allow users to interact more with the website. Web 2.0 also allows interaction between people from different sides. From this lesson, I learnt how to use Flickr to upload photo, tag it, comment it. I also learnt how to join a group and add my friends.
Web 2.0 has affected me in a lot of way especially in social life. The web 2.0 has make my life easier and more entertaining as there are a lot of interaction. You can play flash games and watch youtube video in web 2.0.
Before the lesson was taught , i didn't know how to use flickr because i don't know what is it for . After the lesson , i know actually how to use it . So we can use flickr to share photos with your friends and family .
I also learn that Web 2.0 allows tagging and interactive with the users unlike Web 1.0 . Websites like facebook , twitter and youtube consists of Web 2.0 . Web 2.0 makes the applications or the websites more interesting and entertaining by allowing the user to interact with the computer . Google and Yahoo search sites are also from Web 2.0 . They gave us information which we need and also it is very useful in our daily lifes . Without google or yahoo , we will be having a hard time finding out the meaning or definition of this word/ phrase / sentence . Simply , we cannot live without Web2.0 . Teenagers uses blog nowadays . Blog came from Web2.0 . So i can say that we need Web 2.0 in our life and without Web2.0 , i am sure that the nation information literacy rate will be much slower .
What I've learned about the Web 1.0 vs Web 2.0 it has taught me that technology has advanced a lot and in web 2.0 it allows more interactivity and social networking this has allowed us to contact with people half way around the world thus making us closer to anyone around the world. Web 2.0 also provides us to blogs or many other things allowing more interactivity with the website therefore improving understanding of the website purpose as compared to web 1.0 where it was very poor.
For Flickr it is an example of a Web 2.0 website it is an advanced system to share photos with people around the world or you can simple set to private settings for a few selected people only.
In conclusion web 2.0 has changed the way we will look at the web as it is now e.g. youtube or blogger so many websites in the internet that is widely used among us due to the fact that Web 2.0 has evolved the internet.
I've learnt that All these changes, from web 1.0-2.0, to even 3.0 in the near future even for example, is really pretty much based on what us, humans, want. We want animation? Give it time and its done! All of which are very useful, in a way, however, with every issue solved will come a whole new issue that awaits to be solved, which results in an ever-changing society that we're in.
As for Flickr, it allows people to simply share their moment(s) of joy with everyone, simply spreading joy. Or perhaps use as a platform to show case their photography skills and gain some sort of feedback.
Web 2.0 has set foot into my daily life, when i was young, has never left since then. It has made many things easier for me. For instance(s), coming up with presentations and etc. . . and of course there are cons to it, whereby one might get addicted to it, like many of us today, including me, where we spent long hours in a day accessing it.
In this week, I was able to get my hands-on website making. This really benefited me alot as in the future I might even be able to help people or myself make a website. And I know that website making could help us earn quite alot as people are willingly to pay any price to get a good website as a website is a interface between the customer and the seller.
I was taught about web 2.0 which provide us ability to put pictures, do tagging etc. and it helps me know more about websites. I used to think that the website has always been a place where we can do such thing but I did not know that in the past, tagging was not available for the people. Knowing about this, it adds on to my knowledge of knowing that the website today is always changing.
I was exposed to Flickr as well and was able to try it out. As a first time user, I was satisfied by what we could do and how simple it is. I was able to share photos within groups and even upload a photo into my own collection.
I have realized the difference between web 1.0 and 2.0. All the while, I thought that Internet is always internet, things like Facebook or Twitter is not created last time because technology is not very good. But I learn that Web 1.0 was all about the information and Web 2.0 includes Social Networking Sites for all users to catch up with our families and friends.
As for the Flickr case study, it was really interesting for me. Because I nvr had a Flickr account. I always knew that it exist but for someone who seldom take pictures like me, will simply think that Flickr is really useless.
Lastly, we also learn about the HTML. I feel that HTML is the most interesting because I love to create blogs (instead of blogging) so that I can change the HTML into the type of font, pictures and sizes of my preferences. I'm really looking forward to learning and be able to create my own site for my life.
Web 2.0 simplify the process for us to broadcast the information to internet. It also brings people connected with social networking sites like facebook, flickr.
Without Web 2.0, information travel slower as there is not much sharing of information on the web. And i would not be able to retrieve information for research easily.
The lesson gives me an overview on how fast the web has evolved over the years and it also shows how much potential of money being made on the web.
I’ve learnt the difference between web 1.0 and web 2.o,web 1.0 sites are static, not interactive and applications are proprietary. As the evolution between the two sites, web 2.0 success of two technologies which are blogging and tagging.Web 2.0 is much more better than web 1.0,web 1.0 is old version, unlike web 2.0, which more on blogging technology, web services , social network.
Flickr is website that allow users to upload images and videos under their account, which can be share around the world. Able to set private or set as public, for other users to view it.Flickr search can help to find what images or videos you are searching for too. Flickr can also create a group for users to join in and share their photos or videos. Web 2.0 allows me to enjoy playing facebook games, MSN social network, watch movies by downloading them. It helps me a lot by access web 2.0.
I learnt that Web 1 .0 is the World Wide Web just link webpage’s with hyperlinks and only webmasters can change any information on their site Which is different from Web 2.0 where it is a site that allows users to interact and collaborate with each other in a social media Tagging of photos is another technology in Web 2.0. For example, Facebook allowed us to tag our friends in photos and enable them to view it with just a click instead of having to search for a picture.
Flickr is mainly a site for us to share photos and videos photos online and has many features such as tagging, extracting EXIF data from a image and creating groups. It is very useful for searching pictures that you need that is being shared by another user.
Web 2.0 has affected my life, connects people and has become a part of my daily life. Now, it has become easy to know how is my friends by simply checking their Facebook status, reading their blog or twitter.
I know that the world changes a lot just for a decade. Especially in the technology world, every single second is important makes a great difference. Web 2.0 allows us to communicate and interact each other through social media which all of us mainly doing it all the time when we are socializing with people. Flickr is actually a webpage for socializing by uploading photos to the webpage for the whole world to see. Actually, I thought that Flickr is a picture webpage and I don’t know that those pictures were uploaded by the users themselves. Using the photo sharing in Flickr, I know that how the world has changed for the past decade, from the static and non-socialize Web 1.0 to an advance Web 2.0 with a great socializing network.
Web 2.0 lies on the success of 2 new technologies: Blogging and Tagging. Web 2.0 allow more communication online, through social media. The new web2.0 allow me to Social with more people, get information, get updated and stay connected with the world. It also allow me to chat with friends online and organize events online. Therefore, web 2.0 has affects my life to becoming more sociable online and i also spend alot of time on social media.
Flickr is one type of web 2.0 website. Flickr allow us to share photos online to the world. Flickr also allows us to create private groups to share photos together. I know another web 2.0 website which is also on Photo sharing. That is photobucket.com . Comparing this 2 photo sharing sites, i think that photobucket is better because it allows us to edit our photos with designs and animations. However, photobucket will lag but so far i use Flickr, there is no problem on lagging.
I have learnt that there’s a revolution from web 1.0 to web 2.0, and the success of Web 2.0 lies on the success of two technologies: blogging and tagging. Basically, in my point of view, I find that the advantage of Web 2.0 is that it allows us to interact with other people through the new technologies. For example, I can share my personal life stories with my family and friends through blogging, as it can act like a diary for me.
Honestly, at first I do not know what Flickr is, let alone using it. However, after the lesson, I have learnt what Flickr is all about, and realised it is actually a place where you can share your pictures with others around the world. It sounds interesting, hence I will try using it in future (:
In conclusion, Web 2.0 and the future advancement will act like a stepping stone for me as it will constantly encourage me to move a step forward into the advanced technology world, with all the different interesting and challenging experiences awaiting me to attempt them.
